
Disciplinary Policy
This Klub Kildare (the “Club”) Disciplinary Policy is to be considered in conjunction with all other Club polices and procedures.
The purpose of this policy is to describe the approach the Club will take to deal with any persons associated with the club (e.g., team manager, coach, committee member, parent, player or supporter), who’s on or off the field behavior breaches any of the club’s policy or whose behavior threatens to bring the Club into disrepute.
This disciplinary procedure relates to any club activities not just on the field, club policies must be adhered to in training, on club grounds, on social media and at club social events.
All members of the Club should familiarize themselves with this policy.
Disciplinary Guidelines
Where a written complaint is received about a person associated with Klub Kildare, the complaint will be reviewed and investigated by the Executive Committee or another committee or sub-committee duly appointed depending on the nature of the complaint.
The Chairman and/or the Executive are empowered to convene a disciplinary committee at their discretion to address the matter at hand. Such committee may be comprised of club members or other non-members with the required knowledge and skillsets depending on the nature of the compliant. All disciplinary committee members will act in good faith, respect the confidential nature of such disciplinary enquiries and be honest and transparent in their dealings with the complainant.
At all times the composition of the disciplinary committee may be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
If the person, against which the complaint has been made, is found to be in breach of the Club policy or is found to have brought the club into disrepute, one or more of the following penalties will be applied, depending on the severity of the complaint:
Letter of warning after which any further breaches will incur additional penalties or sanctions.
Notification that the person has been stood down for a period or for the remainder of the season for failing to abide by the club’s policies. “Stand down” notices may also be applied to certain supporters or parents in breach who may be instructed not to step foot on club grounds for a period or for the remainder of the season.
Notification that the person (s) registration will not automatically be accepted for the following season and will be subject to review to determine if the player/member is of proper character to represent Klub Kildare.
Immediate expulsion of members from the club is a possible sanction where warranted.
Team managers and coaches have the authority to exclude players from training activities in response to inappropriate behavior for a period, without recourse to a formal disciplinary hearing, however they should only do so after other avenues have been exhausted with the player in question and there must also be a dialogue with the players parents before such action is taken.
Should a coach wish to exercise the right to exclude a player for a period they must notify the Executive Committee in advance.
Managers and Coaches may also remove players from the field of play during games in response to inappropriate behavior from the player or the player’s parents.
Players, parents or coaches who respond inappropriately to the instructions of a coach or club official during a game or at training in such a manner as they breach the club’s Code of Conduct policy may be subject to penalties imposed by the Club. It is possible that a manager or coach or other member may wish to make a written complaint and request action be taken against the player /parent /coach concerned. Such complaint should be made in writing to the Secretary within seven (7) days of the incident.
Appeals
To ensure that that Klub Kildare maintains a fair, balanced and reasonable position in all disciplinary matters any disciplinary penalty imposed will be open to an appeal process. The complainant retains a right to appeal the penalty, however, all appeals remain at the discretion of the Executive Committee based on the facts presented by the Disciplinary Committee.
